VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRES

VICs are normally located in municipalities. They are responsible for disseminating tourism information to enhance the overall tourism experience and can be public or private owned. VICs play an important role within the tourism industry, since they often serve as vital first points of contact and provide value-adding services to visitors. In so doing, they equip visitors with relevant information about tourism products and services within a destination or region.

There are VIC's all over South Africa. The friendly staff can offer advice and information to  assist tourists in making the most of their trip to South Africa. Tourists can collect brochures and maps, some VICs sell South African guide books and offer services such as making reservations for tours, selling memorabilia etc.
