National Tourism Research Agenda

NATIONAL TOURISM RESEARCH AGENDA

The Department of Tourism (NDT) is currently developing a research agenda to identify research gaps and guide research priorities within the tourism sector, with a view to inform policy, planning and decision making. The Research Agenda will serve as a framework to guide and direct tourism priority research focus over a period of four years, starting 2016/17-2019/20. The final research agenda will ensure alignment with the strategic objectives of the National Development Plan, National Tourism Sector Strategy (NTSS) and NDT.

Consultations were held with different tourism stakeholders in order to identify research gaps and needs. A list of research themes and focus areas were therefore generated. The department therefore requests your participation in the prioritisation process of these research themes and focus areas for the short, medium and long term periods.
